Forestry Apprentice

ND State Parks –Forestry Apprentice 

Full-time Seasonal Position, Housing may be available 

Starting at $15-$17 per hour 

 

Are you passionate about maintaining the beauty of North Dakota’s state parks? Join us as a Forestry Apprentice! In this role, you will assist in the management and health of woodlands, providing guidance to our team and the city of Garrison. You’ll engage in tree and shrub maintenance, tree planting, and the operation of various forestry equipment. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Assist in the establishment, growth, composition, health, and quality of woodlands. 

Perform tree and shrub maintenance, including pruning and health assessments. 

Participate in tree planting efforts and ensure proper planting techniques. 

Operate forestry tools and equipment such as chainsaws, weed badgers, roto tillers, tree spades, and tree planters. 

Work collaboratively with the team and local authorities to promote forestry best practices. 

Adapt to various working environments, spending 50% of your time at Fort Stevenson and 50% in Garrison, ND. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Ability to operate motor vehicles, power tools, and forestry equipment safely.
